All, The modified forum rules are based on a real constitution we all should hold dear. Xbox Users Group was founded on September 15th 2001 by Cornelis van den Bosch, currently Admin and Founder, owned and operated by Regroup-Esports. The purpose of the Xbox Users Group is to provide an international framework for Xbox News and Xbox gaming. XUG is a real community; a structured framework of people who enjoy playing together. The main language on the site and forums is English. For our privacy policy click here. XUG is a community and it is one we want everyone to have fun in. As with any community, however, there are standards that must be followed if one wants to be a part of that community. Since we feel like XUG is like a little country we have drafted a constitution for our community. We ask that you follow these guidelines when participating on the XUG forums. Please read this constitution carefully as you will be expected to follow these guidelines. The XUG Constitution 1. Treat your fellow forums members with respect. If you wish to be treated with respect you must be willing to give respect. There will always be disagreements between members, but we expect you to show respect for the person you are disagreeing with. Courtesy is not a request, it is expected. In short, trolling or flaming are not welcome here. 2. Personal harassment of any kind is not welcome. Criticize ideas, not people. Teasing or poking fun is certainly allowed, and encouraged, but if you think something you say might be taken the wrong way, don't say it. It is always better to ere on the side of caution. Also keep in mind that in such an imprecise communication medium as the internet it is often easy to misunderstand a person's intent. Try to give your forum-mates a little slack and do not automatically assume the worst. 3. Racist, homophobic or sexist comments, or comments disparaging another person's religion are not welcome here. Period. Also telling a person to kill themselves or other similar posts is not welcome. 4. Usernames or gamertags that are racist, intolerant, homophobic or sexist , or are disparaging another person's religion are not welcome here. XUG reserves the right to remove any gamertag, username that violates this rule. Excessive violations of the rule may result in an inquiry to Microsoft for violation of the Xbox Live Terms of Use and the Xbox Live Code of Conduct. 5. Posts concerning cheating, mods, piracy, warez, or other illegal material are strictly off limits. Anyone violating this rule will be immediately removed from the forums. 6. This forum is a PG-13 forum. Make sure that any images, avatars, or posts conform to that standard. No sexually explicit material is welcome here. If you would be ashamed to show it to your mother, then it probably is not appropriate for these forums. 7. We do not accept any type of illegal soft/hardware trading or any unfit content in a post. Only official Xbox Games may be traded with other XUG members, and we will remove the content of the posts where we see fit. We offer this as a free service, however, we are not responsible for any failed trades/sells/buys with other members. We do our best to award members who do honest trades and we will also publish names of people who don't make honest trades. 8. All the trademarks and copyrights are property of their respective owners. Upon request, we will remove (if liable) any information from the forum that violates any copyright or trademark. 9. Any links that are considered as spam or advertising by the management of this website can and will be removed. XUG reserves the right to warn or ban anyone that does not comply. If you would like to advertise here at XUG there are many other options, which you can inquire about from the management. This applies to all advertisement, including links to sites that offer items or services for free. We do not allow members to make postings linking to sites like freexbox.com or freexbox360.com. Doing so can result in immediate banning. 10. XUG doesn't allow 'Hotlinking' from our server or from other sites into our forums. When we see you are hotlinking images from other sites we will give you a warning and will request that you adjust the image, by downloading the image to your own computer (edit it so that it meets the rule of attached images) and upload it as an attachment into our database. This doesn't apply to images hosted by a personally owned site! When an image has a so-called 'Stamp' (copyright), please do not remove it, to honor the site you have taken the image from. 11. Text mixed with numbers (L33t, Sp33k, etc.) is not allowed on our forum boards. Excessive violations of the rules may result in an inquiry to your ISP (Internet Service Provider). 12. Reproduction in whole or in part in any form or medium without express written permission of XBox Users Group is prohibited. All logos and trademarks in this site are property of their respective owner. We are not responsible for postings (in our forum board and in our Gallery) made by our members, but we do our best and scan daily with our entire team for irregularities and will remove them as soon as possible. The comments are property of their posters, all the rest is copyrighted 2001-2008 Xbox Users Group. 13. Try not to post redundant threads. Do a search and see if anyone is already talking about the subject you wish to discuss. This helps us keep the clutter down. 14. Signatures, Avatars and Userbars. - You are allowed to have two images (sig and userbar) in your signature. The maximum width of these images in a signature is 450 pixels, and the maximum height of this image in a signature is 100 pixels and may not exceed the 40Kb, the provided userbar is 350 by 19. Signatures also may contain up to 4 lines of text when using only a signature, it may only contain 2 lines of text when using a signature and Userbar, disregarding this will result in removal of sig and possible suspension. When using an signature and a Userbar provided by XUG please keep them close together with max. of 1 empty line between them. You are allowed to have an avatar, the maximum width of the avatar is 120 pixels, and the maximum height of the avatar is 120 pixels and may not excedd the 30Kb. Both Signature and Avatar images must be appropriate; something you could show your mom. Breaking this rule could result in the loss of your signature/avatar privileges and/or the suspension of your account. 15. Posting another persons personal information, pictures, etc., without prior consent is strictly forbidden. This also includes private emails, instant messenger names, addresses, passwords, etc... Please contact the user before posting any of their information. 16. If a word is censored by the forums, do not attempt to evade the censor by adding letters, spaces, or other characters. 17. Please refrain from making threads or posting just because everyone else is doing it. It is not only annoying, it also degrades the quality of our forums, Quality above Quantity! 18. All users, both staff and regular members are expected to follow these guidelines. Violators will receive a warning. A second infraction of the same rule will result in the user being booted from the forums and website.
