TheXUG.com will undergo some serious upgrading on Monday, switching to new servers as well as implementing a new forum. Thus the site will be down from Sunday 23:59 CET to Monday 23:59 CET.
It's about time to get more friends, more features and more connectivity. As many in here already knows, this site is part of a bigger environment. Even though the site may be named myMYM.com, DotaPortal.com, NNscript.com or TheXUG.com these are actually all part of the same system. However until now we havent been able to interact with each other across the sites.
This will now be changed. During the night between Sunday and Monday we will implement an upgrade to the sites, which will give a lot more features to everybody. However nothing comes for free. We therefore will have to shut down our webpages for a short time in order to add the new stuff.
So what will be going on?
The basic operation is that we are gonna move all the forementioned sites into one new big site through which all users will be able to communicate with each other while still accessing the normal content available through the sites. More explicitly this means:
All profiles will be present on all the sites. Logging in to thexug.com will automatically log you into dotaportal.com and mymym.com as well All forum posts will be put into one big forum The sites will be moved to a new set of servers to provide faster page serving times. All these operations and a few tech things we don't really care about will be done all at once. This of course also means the sites will be unavailable for a period of time, while we transfer all the data and settings of the sites. For this reason the sites wont be available in the following period:
Sunday 23:59 CET - Monday 23:59 CET
Of course we might be faster, and if so the sites will open up again earlier, but we canot promise this. All we ask for is a little patience ;-)
What do I get out of this?
Depending on which site you normally come from your gain will vary a little. But the main bonuses we all get is:
A lot faster servers and less downtime! We will be using one of the newest forum software with richer interfaces. The use of bb tags will become available to everyone Notifications when replies are posted in the forums See who else reads a thread New posts indicator Post ratings Possibility to interact with more than 1 million other users List of who's online Does it hold any other impact on me?
Most users shouldn't notice the transfer at all. In general you should be able to log into the new page as always when we are done. However a few people will be affected. Since the sites are merging together some users may hold the same username. This wont be allowed.
So if you have a user on myMYM.com named "K!ll4H" and another user on DotaPortal.com is named the same, one of these users will be renamed. Which users is renamed is based on a lot of different rules and of course activity on the sites. If you are using the sites frequently the chances, that your user account will be renamed is very small.
What do I do if it doesnt work?
When moving such big systems as these webpages errors can arise, and stuff can break. We are doing all that we can to keep everything working, but if a glitch occours we will be ready to help you. Just contact one of the administrators and we will figure out how to solve it.
The administrators will put in an extra effort when the site comes back up in order to make everything work. Admins can be reached at our online support.
If the problem is login related it might be, that your username have been changed. You can check this yourself by going to one of the helper pages and enter your login credentials. This will then provide you with your new login informations if it was changed. The helper pages can be found at:
www.mymym.com/loginname.html www.nnscript.com/loginname.html www.dotaportal.com/loginname.html www.thexug.com/loginname.html
Note: The helper pages will first be available after sunday 23:59 CET, when the transfer is done.
Now lets get this new forum running. We hope to see you online to a lot of new features later.

After sending long-time member Walshy out in the dark, rumours ran rampant throughout the Halo 3 community about who Final Boss would pick up as a replacement.
The Real Madrid of Halo couldn't be arsed to wait for better times or that the players got good enough in the game, they needed instant improvement. That is probably why the team has decided to poach a player from Str8 Rippin - which has been THE team to beat in recent Halo 3-times. The target is Neighbour, who coincidently is one of the best rated players on the circuit right now. But it's not like the saga is ending here. Now Str8 Rippin needs a new player, but will it be Walshy or will they look in another direction for their man? With MLG Toronto being only 3 weeks away, they have to act fast to get a little teamplay ready for the event. Yesterday MLG's Commissioner, John Nelson, sent shockwaves through the Halo 3-community as he announced that Final Boss had dropped Walshy from their roster.
Apart from the OGRE-twins, Dave 'Walshy' Walsh is one of the best (and most succesful) Halo-players to ever touch the XboX-joypad. Being one of the founding members of Final Boss, along with OGRE1 and OGRE2, Walsh has won three MLG National Championships in 2004, 2005 and 2007. During his four year stint with the team, Walsh has won more than 20 MLG Halo-tournaments, spanning over all three games in the series. 2007 was the teams best year, as they were ever-dominant. With the arrival of Halo 3 in the 2008-season, things have been a bit more rocky though. The team won the first MLG-event in Meadowlands, but since then they placed 8th and 5th at the San Diego- and Orlando-event respectively. There is no official reason for the release of Walshy, but seeing that none of the Final Boss-players are in the Top 10 of the MLG-rankings, it is obvious that the team had to SOMEHTING. Speculations about Walshy's next team, aswell as who will be the new player in Final Boss, is running rampant at the moment, and with just a month until MLG Toronto, we will know it pretty soon I think. If you thought your nomination for the best Halo-player of the year saves your ass; you were wrong! YOU'RE FIRED!

Now this is a story all about how, MLGPro turned the beat up and made me bow. And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there and I'll hook you up with a rofltime now and here!
I got to admit it, I'm a sucker for the Fresh Prince, and I love the show on TV. It's still aired on Danish television and I never miss ONE episode. Oh well, that is a lie. I do miss episodes occasionally, but not on purpose. Anyway, let's get to the damn point here. Over at MLGPro.com, they have had something they call "Grand Theft Auto 4 Film Festival". The goal is clear. Make a short movie with elements from the game, and have your video praised by as many people as possible. They have just crowned the winner, and WHAT a winner. It is THE remake of the intro-sequence to the Fresh Prince, and it's just amazing. I mean, not "THIS IS HAMMERTIME"-amazing, but still above average. Below this text is the REAL prince of Liberty City, but if you want to see the animated version, you'll have to click the picture or the link, to take the jump. I'm the real prince, and I got a shottie! SO GTFO OUT! MLGPro.com - Winner of GTAIV Film Festival Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (132) | Quote this article on your site |

Microsoft will be giving back some of the green ones in a new "we love people who creates content for us"-stunt. XNA Code Creators Club will be offering paying members the possibility to be paid for their games.
The system is quite simple. Game-developers in XNA will be able to publish their work on XboX Live Arcade to let people try them. If the developers like the feedback, they can choose to put the games up for sale. Microsoft will of course take their piece of the cake, but 70% of the revenue will go back to the original creator. As a funny note, Kotaku have read out the FAQ and it seems like big name publishers can also put up games if they want to. Am I the only one who wants to see Nintendo putting up a Mario-game on the XboX? More XboX-dollars to the people! YAY!

Planned to be released in early October, Fable 2 is the latest title from Peter Molyneux. Loved for his fantastic games in the past, and hated for his hyped titles that couldn't live up to people's expectations in recent times, Molyneux promises that Fable 2 is going to be his "biggest game".
Kotaku had the chance to get a hands-on experience with the game at E3 and Michael McWhertor is creaming his pants because of "the impressive amount of depth the game". To be fair, the game does sound nice though. You'll be sporting a 4-legged friend, and unlike World of Walking, your pet is actually worth something. The dog, because that is what you get to help you, will be able to help you fight mobs and can also sniff up hidden treasures. For the full newspost and the game-footage take the jump to Kotaku. Else you can join me and wonder exactly HOW deep Fable 2 is and what the hell Peter Molyneux is doing at the bottom of THIS well: Molyneux's day in the well: "It's going to be the best friggin' game ever, I PROMISE! AS GOOD AS FABLE, PLEASE BELIEVE ME!"

Berlin Allianz faded away as they lost four out of five possible submatches against San Francisco OPTX, while Birmingham Salvo and Carolina Core put on a magnificent show.
In the first Semi-final of the night, Berlin Allianz proved to be no match for OPTX, as the Americans won the match with a sounding 27-14 score. Dead or Alive was the biggest stumble for Allianz, as they dropped 10 rounds only to get 2 themselves. Their designated clutch-players, the Forza-team, couldn't do much as OPTX took the first spot and thus clinched that submatch too. Liefje got blown out 5-1 by Vanessa - but still looks pretty [picture from TheCGS.com]
Manyna took the expected win in FIFA, but as the Swedish/Dutch CS:S team of Allianz couldn't get OPTX in the bag, nothing really mattered for Allianz. Beaten back and forth, they will look to consolidate themselves in the 3rd-place decider later this month. After a boring FIFA-game, the real show between Core and Salvo began. The CS:S-encounter was a succes for the Brits as they netted an 11-7 victory, taking the lead in the game. As SarahLou only lost with 1 point against Mystik in DoA-female, the racing-team from Salvo almost clinched the match for Birmingham, as they took 1st and 2nd in Forza. With an overall lead of 20-15 and only the male DoA-game left, Core was in the ropes. Offbeat Ninja was the man who faced the epic task. Five games, and five victories later, the match was tied at 20-20. The single overtime round between the two DoA-players was an exciting feat; the very last game that would send one of the teams in the World Final. And Messy won it. After losing 5 consecutive rounds, he attacked with a speed and motivation that Offbeat couldn't do anything about. Messy clinched the round for Salvo, propelling them into the final with a 21-20 victory. Take the jump to TheCGS.com for weenus' full battle-report. Microsoft just put out a major update to their release-dates, and it seems like October and November is going to be saving-months for me; or "heavy XboX-action-months" atleast. Fallout 3 is coming out on October 7th, Fable 2 is coming out two weeks later on the 21st and Gears of War 2 is poised to be out on November 7th.
The list also reveals some of the new titles, that will be coming out in "the future". Final Fantasy is labelled in 2009 while it seems like there is going to be yet a Tony Hawk skating-game. With the number of titles for that franchise, one could almost think that EA had bought it.... I'll bet ya that the Hawkster didn't think THAT big when he signed with Activision! You can see a full blown list of releasedates and rumoured titles over at IGN.com. So take the jump. The nice folks over at Kotaku.com were ever-present at the E3, gathering as much information as they possibly could. Now, they didn't only drink and party, they were actually working too.
That has resulted in three video-interviews with some of the top dogs at Microsoft. Shane Kim talks about the XboX 360 interface redesign, Phil Spencer is questioned about Halo and Halo Wars, and lastly he is also being questioned about Gears of War 2 - and 3! So take the jump to see the videos. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (122) | Quote this article on your site |

If you haven't checked out Fable 2 yet, there is now more reasons to do it. The first game was not only a good RPG, it was a fantastic RPG, and showed the huge potential that the consoles have in that genre. The successor takes place 500 years after the first one, and this time around it is going to be more realistic. Much more realistic.
In fact, you will now be able to play Sims in your Fable-game. You can choose to be a quiet merchant who sits at home on evenings and occasionally sleep with your wife. If you use condoms, you'll not have heir, and if you skip the rubber, you can end up getting a baby - and a Sexual Transmitted Dissease (if your wife has slept with a more exciting man than you). That is atleast what Peter Molyneux promised as he was interviewed by IGN. You can of course also be the Cassanova and deal with other people's wives, but just as in real life it can be a risky business. X, X, Y, B - "Ah damn, premature game-over again!"
